Unforgettable Anchorage: A Travel Advisor's Winter Journey in Alaska

An Adventurous Winter in Anchorage: A Brief Overview of My FAM Trip Experience

Welcome to My Alaskan Winter Wonderland Adventure

Hey there, fellow travelers! I've just returned from an adventure-packed FAM trip to Anchorage, Alaska, thanks to the fine folks at Visit Anchorage. You know, after missing out twice last year, I finally made it on my third invite. They say third time's the charm, right?

Why Alaska, You Ask?

For those who know me, my passion for Alaska is no secret. This trip was a golden opportunity to dive deeper into what Anchorage offers, ensuring I can share the best insights with you.

Joined by seven other travel advisors from across the country and our friends from Visit Anchorage, we set out to explore without the usual "special treatment." It felt good knowing we were experiencing Anchorage just as any of our clients would.

Kicking Off With a Bang

Our journey began at the Captain Hotel Cook, cozying up before embarking on our city tour. Anchorage welcomed us with open arms, starting with an enlightening visit to the Visitor Information Center, followed by a whirlwind city tour. Our first group dinner at Crush was a culinary delight - those tapas, divine!

When Plans Go Awry

The next day's helicopter tour got winded out (literally), but that didn't dampen our spirits. We visited the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center instead, getting up close with some of Alaska's majestic wildlife. The rest of the day was spent exploring Alyeska Resort, capped off with a relaxing evening at the Nordic Spa – the only one in the U.S., might I add. Talk about luxury amidst the cold!

Exploring More of Alaska's Charm

Our adventures took us from a scenic drive back to Anchorage to hiking near the mesmerizing Barbara Falls. Dinner at Ginger's was a unanimous hit - that Asian Fusion cuisine, yum! We cozied up at the Copper Whale Inn, each room bursting with character.

The Adventure Continues

The highlight of our trip was UTV riding at Hatcher's Pass with Hatcher's Pass Castle ATV Tours, followed by a heartwarming dog sled ride with Alaskan Husky Adventure. Despite the cold, the views of Denali were breathtaking. Though the Northern Lights were shy, the starry night was a spectacle in itself.

Wrapping Up

Sadly, our last attempts at flightseeing were foiled by the wind. Yet, the Anchorage Museum provided a perfect end to our journey, showcasing Alaska's rich culture and history.

Your Turn to Explore Anchorage

This trip was more than just a checkbox on my bucket list; it was a chance to gather valuable insights for the ultimate Alaskan vacation. Ready to plan yours? I'm here to help make it perfect, be it a cruise, land adventure, or a mix of both. Let's chat and make your Alaskan dream trip a reality.
